Valuing a supermarket chain

We completed the valuation of a mid-sized supermarket chain. At our client’s request, we have been asked to adopt two alternative bases of value, each one respectively related to two different scenarios:  a) a contribution in kind of the business in a newly formed company (basis of value:  reference to Italian civil law code paragraphs 2343 and subs.; b) sale of the business (“market value”  ad defined by IVSC and OIV).
